A FELLOW,

ANGELA ELIZABETH RAMÍREZ FELLOWES
BIO

Angela Elizabeth Ramírez Fellowes “A FELLOW” was born in Querétaro to a Mexican father and a Canadian mother, a syncretism that permeates her work. She studied Architecture and earned a master's degree in Architecture and New Urbanism from ITESM-Campus Querétaro, where she worked as an urban research assistant, full-time professor, and director of the Architecture program from 2016 to 2018. In 2018, she moved to Tallinn, Estonia to pursue a master's degree in Contemporary Art at the Estonian Academy of Arts, from which she graduated in 2021.

A FELLOW lives and works in Querétaro, Mexico, practicing as an Artist-Urbanist. His work is characterized by the act of looking back, a way of approaching the natural and urban landscape in relation to the other, blurring the distinction between the human and non-human in order to stretch the perception and determination of the values assigned to the world around us.

First exhibiting her work in 2011, in the form of performances, installations, and material explorations, she has presented her work in Mexico, Estonia, England, Finland, Lithuania, and Portugal. Throughout her career, she has received an Honorable Mention in the 2011 State Ecology Award, the 2012 Apoyarte Grant from the Querétaro Institute of Culture and the Arts, and the 2022 PECDA Grant from the Querétaro Ministry of Culture in conjunction with FONCA Mexico.
