DE-INSTALLATION

Paper tags hung by natural thread & blue tape, signed by new owners and displayed in accordance to the acquired belonging original’s position in the apartment.

This exercise of collective de-installation invited people to de-install my apartment by purchasing my belongings, leaving behind a tag with their name. By taking the spirit, so to speak, of the objects of attachment and letting them transcend in their ephemeral existence to another context and owner, the event became an emotional and collective exercise of accepting the context and not the object.

Seldomly is the attachment about the object itself
rather than about the moments it has witnessed,
the emotions it has unleashed
and the people with whom it was shared.
